English Drama
The Pasir Ris Secondary School Drama Club focuses on nurturing students’ potential in creating drama productions and staging performances. As part of their training, students continuously develop their expertise in performance and stage management.
To expose students to the glee and glamour of working in a theatre production, they will get to be involved in either devising, performing in, or stage-managing a drama production every year. Students will also usually attend local drama productions to gain exposure and learn to appreciate a variety of performances. Aside from watching plays, students have the opportunity to learn more about backstage management, ranging from lighting techniques to prop design and the pre-production process, including scriptwriting and character creation.
At the end of four years in Drama Club, students will become more confident, well-spoken, and creative individuals. These attributes have helped them charm audiences from all walks of life, excel in oral communication, and forge friendships with everyone they meet.
