Direct School Admission

Overview

Pasir Ris Secondary School is in an exciting phase of growth. We warmly invite Primary 6 students to apply for admission to Secondary 1 through the Direct School Admission for Secondary Schools (DSA-Sec) exercise. We offer three DSA talent areas:

1. Learning for Life Programme in Music & Performing Arts  - At Pasir Ris Secondary School, we nurture the love of arts and have a vibrant music and performing arts culture. Our broad-based Learning for Life Programme (LLP) in Music and Performing Arts is structured around SHINE, which comprises five key areas:  Self-discovery of interest and abilities, Heritage and cultural appreciation, Interaction and collaborative learning, eNgagement in community outreach and partnership; and Excellence in artistic expression. Through music and the performing arts, we aim to develop sound values, social and emotional competencies, and strength of character in our students while helping them pursue their interests and talents in the arts. Our performing arts CCAs include Choir, Concert Band, Chinese Orchestra, Drama and Modern Dance.

2. Talent Development in Sports - Football (Boys) and Volleyball (Boys & Girls) – Introduced in 2020, our sports talent-development programme builds on the school’s strong sporting tradition. We offer comprehensive football and volleyball programmes to develop our student-athletes. In addition to receiving high-quality sports training, students take part in robust leadership programme that develops them into responsible sports ambassadors. We strongly believe that sport builds character, fosters friendships and strengthens teamwork. If you are passionate about football or volleyball and have represented your primary school in sports competitions, we encourage you to apply.

3. Digital Media - Our school was part of MOE's 2019 pilot for the Personal Digital Learning Programme. We have since developed a programme that nurtures students’ talents and interests in digital media. The programme covers audio-visual and lighting support for school activities, as well as video production, broadcasting, photography, coding, computational thinking and makerspace projects. Students receive training in a range of digital media and create prototypes using mBots, micro:bits and block-based programming, guided by design-thinking principles.

Centralised DSA-Sec Application Process

Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. Applications are free and will be accepted from 6 May 2026, 11.00 a.m. to 2 Jun 2026, 4.30 p.m.
